Type Locality and Naming

The type section is located in the vicinity of Guojiawopeng, Jiqinhe Country, Longjiang County, Heilongjiang Province. It was named by Liu Guochang et al., in 1951, and was cited officially by Ning Jisheng, Tang Kedong in 1959.


Lithology and Thickness

Volcanics. Composed mainly of intermediate-acidic volcanic rocks. Lower part represents rhythmic deposits consisting of sandstone, siltstone and limestone lenses, intercalated occasionally with andesitic porphyrite. Upper part represents grey-green and grey-purple andesitic porphyrite and its tuffaceous limestone, breccia-bearing andesitic porphyrite, intercalated with rhyolitic porphyry. Thickness is 1560 m in the type section.

Lower contact

Regional extent

Distributed in the northern part of the Zaleite Banner and the area of Buteha Banner.
